<p>THERE ARE FOUR TYPES OF INSOMNIA</p>
<p>PSYCHO-REACTIVE INSOMNIA: <a href="http://www.neuro-vision.us/Products/AudioInsomniaHypnosisTapes.htm" target="_blank">This type of insomnia is caused by tension</a>. The person&#8217;s mind is keeping them awake with worry. In addition, they may begin to worry about getting to sleep because they have to awaken in the morning. <p>ENDOGENOUS INSOMNIA: This is often caused by a discomfort within the body ranging from indigestion to pain.</p>

<p>4. Trying to fall asleep: There is a law of nature called &#8220;The Law of Reversed Effect.&#8221; It says that if you &#8220;try&#8221; to do something, you will get the opposite. And the harder you &#8220;try,&#8221; the more you will get the opposite. So, trying to fall asleep will insure that you will remain awake. Do not &#8220;try&#8221; to fall asleep, and do not try to will yourself to sleep. <p>5. Alcohol will put you to sleep: This may be true, as alcohol is a depressant. However, as soon as the booze wears off, you will awaken abruptly and it will become much harder to fall asleep.</p>

<p>Doctors and specialists all recommend that the average adult get 7-9 hours of sleep per night, 7 days a week. This helps to ensure that you live a longer and healthier lifestyle, even as you start to age. If there are menacing factors that are keeping you from sleep each night, you might need to start out with a few different insomnia cures. <p>You might think that that caffeinated and sugar loaded coffee or soda will help get you through the day, but it might carry on into the night. Big caffeine drinkers typically have a very hard time falling to sleep at night. In order to stop tossing and turning all night, limit the amount of caffeine that you are drinking per day and do not drink after 12 in the afternoon.</p>
<p>Taking a nap might seem like a great idea, especially after getting little sleep at night, but try to limit your nap taking. When you take an afternoon nap you are recharging your body for a period of time that will go past when you should be sleeping at night. If you must have a nap during the week, limit that nap to once per day, 30 minutes or less.</p>
<p>If you find yourself eating late at night try to keep away from the snacking. People who are up late at night tend to eat simply out of boredom. Not only will this not make you tired, it will also make you gain weight. Stop eating all food after 7pm at night and keep that a regular part of your schedule. After a month or two you should start to see a significant decrease in the weight that you have put on.</p>
<p>If you are feeling a little bloated and overweight, it might be time to start getting back into shape. Exercise is also a necessity each day if you are looking to sleep at a reasonable hour each night. After dinner try to take a walk or a job for 30-45 minutes. This will help to rid yourself of any leftover stress and strain and help you loosen up before bed.</p>
<p>Breathing exercises and soothing music should be practiced before you get into bed each night. If you can find simple ways that will help you relax and clear your mind before you actually settle in, you should be able to not only fall asleep faster, but stay asleep without tossing or turning. Find a few exercises that work for you and take 5-10 minutes to relax before sleep.</p>
<p>If you live in the city it may be hard to shut out all of the light that will pour into your room when the sun goes down. There are shutters and curtains that you can purchase that will completely block out any and all light. Making sure your room is very dark will help your mind get ready to settle down and sleep.</p>
