<p><strong>Common sleep disorders </strong>include insomnia, sleep apnea, restless leg, narcolepsy, sleepwalking and nightmares. The gentleman in the video below does a great job of explaining about the various stages of sleep and the impact of sleep disorders, unfortunately what he doesn&#8217;t do is explain how they can be overcome. See your doctor? Hmmm, we all know what to expect from that idea!</p>
<p>About the only one in this list of common sleep disorders that can&#8217;t be cured, naturally or medically, is narcolepsy. Narcolepsy is a tendency to fall asleep during the day and a doctor will usually prescribe drugs to keep the person awake. Those experiencing narcolepsy should make sure they get enough sleep each night and, if possible, a short nap during the day will certainly help.</p>
<p>Restless leg is actually a movement disorder and can have a few causes, one that has been suggested is an imbalance of dopamine. Restless leg can be helped by taking the right blend of herbs and minerals and the correct stretches.</p>
<p>Insomnia is one of the most common sleep disorders and is largely caused by stress. Worry and anxiety both lead to stress and need to be eliminated before you can sleep peacefully again. Relaxation techniques, meditation and yoga are all useful ways of overcoming stress.</p>
<p>Sleep apnea is the most dangerous of the common sleep disorders. In this sleep disorder the person stops breathing for seconds at a time, hence the body is deprived of oxygen and the sleep cycle is constantly disrupted. People have died from sleep apnea, and while there are natural cures for this disease, it needs medical attention straight away, and probably the help of a CPAP machine.</p>
<p>Nightmares can also be caused by stress or restless sleep. Avoiding coffee later in the day may be a good idea if nightmares affect your sleep. You could also try to address the cause of nightmares by using EFT. In serious cases a visit to a psychologist may help.</p>
<p>Sleepwalking can be caused by an emotional disorder or again our usual enemy stress. If your child sleepwalks, chances are they&#8217;ll grow out of it. For an adult theTruly stress seems to be a problem in a lot of the most common sleep disorders today.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>The connection between sleep apnea and weight loss is now undeniable</strong>. People often wonder how their weight can actually cause a sleep disorder. It&#8217;s actually due to fat surrounding the neck area which narrows the air passages and makes breathing more difficult. This can cause snoring or the more serious disorder called sleep apnea, and weight loss is the best way to potentially get rid of both problems.</p>
<p>Of course there are other conditions that may cause sleep apnea such as a deviated septum, or in fact anything that causes restriction in the air passages. However if you have sleep apnea and are overweight at the same time, then losing weight may be all you have to do to cure or at least reduce the severity of this disorder.</p>
<p>No it&#8217;s not easy to lose weight I know, but it may be preferable that having to learn to sleep with a CPAP machine which can be quite uncomfortable. So think about your situation and decide if losing weight could help your sleep apnea.</p>
