			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Whether it&#8217;s due to partners snoring, nagging consciences or the stresses and anxieties of modern life, new research has revealed that women are almost 20 per cent more likely to suffer insomnia than men.</p>
<p>A year-long investigation by the National Sleep Foundation (NSF) into the sleeping habits of more than 2,000 women aged from 18 to 64 has found that almost two-thirds had between one and three disturbed nights every week. Almost 70 per cent said they frequently experience a sleep problem. This compares to 52 per cent of men who say they suffer insomnia a few nights a week or more.</p>
<p>Dr Meir Kryger, the author of the book &#8220;Can&#8217;t Sleep, Can&#8217;t Stay Awake : A Woman&#8217;s Guide To Sleep Disorders&#8221;, has conducted similar research in his book to what NSF did. Dr Kryger is the founder of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. As Dr Kryger says, women&#8217;s sleep difficulties are connected with hormonal and body changes such as menstruation or menopause or even pregnancy.</p>
<p>&#8216;Unfortunately, too often it is women whose sleep disorders are undiagnosed or misdiagnosed because of a lack of education among doctors about these unique problems. This failure by doctors to correctly diagnose female sleeplessness is meaning sufferers are putting their health at risk while contributing to dramatic rises in obesity and diabetes. &#8216;Women lose sleep because of their role in the family and the demands of today&#8217;s 24/7 world,&#8217; he added.</p>
<p>All the things written in the Guardian article should be taken for granted. I totally agree with it and must admit that today&#8217;s very demanding world really causes a lot of stress and anxiety to women and these two factors are two main reasons when it comes to sleeping difficulties.</p>
<p>I have been struggling to sleep better for about 3 years and absolutely nothing has helped me &#8217;till the day I met great a composer and attended his workshop. He explained every detail of his music background and told as all the reasons why we cannot sleep better. It was a very educational workshop and from that day I applied all his rules. I started to exercise a lot, I didn&#8217;t realize that after one year I would be a one big addict who cannot live without exercising. I cannot imagine my day without at least 30 min running or doing other activities.</p>
<p>Meanwhile I started meditate about 5 min a day as I had really busy schedule, so couldn&#8217;t invest more time. Hence it was more than enough. I played meditation music in the background called alpha music, which helped me put my brain into very relaxed alpha state. Every night I followed the same routine &#8211; exercising, meditating and playing alpha music before going to bed. Since that time my life has changed. I no longer suffer from insomnia which stopped me from having a normal life. I managed to organize my life and now I am the master of it and I am not letting everyone to disturb it. I remember that day when I first showed up on that workshop. This was surely the new beginning for me and my family too.</p>

<p>Doctors and specialists all recommend that the average adult get 7-9 hours of sleep per night, 7 days a week. This helps to ensure that you live a longer and healthier lifestyle, even as you start to age. If there are menacing factors that are keeping you from sleep each night, you might need to start out with a few different insomnia cures. These cures are effective and will have you sleeping like a baby in no time!</p>
<p>You might think that that caffeinated and sugar loaded coffee or soda will help get you through the day, but it might carry on into the night. Big caffeine drinkers typically have a very hard time falling to sleep at night. In order to stop tossing and turning all night, limit the amount of caffeine that you are drinking per day and do not drink after 12 in the afternoon.</p>
<p>Taking a nap might seem like a great idea, especially after getting little sleep at night, but try to limit your nap taking. Go a few days without taking any naps at all and see fast you fall asleep at night. When you take an afternoon nap you are recharging your body for a period of time that will go past when you should be sleeping at night. If you must have a nap during the week, limit that nap to once per day, 30 minutes or less.</p>
<p>If you find yourself eating late at night try to keep away from the snacking. People who are up late at night tend to eat simply out of boredom. Not only will this not make you tired, it will also make you gain weight. Stop eating all food after 7pm at night and keep that a regular part of your schedule. After a month or two you should start to see a significant decrease in the weight that you have put on.</p>
<p>If you are feeling a little bloated and overweight, it might be time to start getting back into shape. Exercise is also a necessity each day if you are looking to sleep at a reasonable hour each night. After dinner try to take a walk or a job for 30-45 minutes. This will help to rid yourself of any leftover stress and strain and help you loosen up before bed.</p>
<p>Breathing exercises and soothing music should be practiced before you get into bed each night. If you can find simple ways that will help you relax and clear your mind before you actually settle in, you should be able to not only fall asleep faster, but stay asleep without tossing or turning. Find a few exercises that work for you and take 5-10 minutes to relax before sleep.</p>
<p>If you live in the city it may be hard to shut out all of the light that will pour into your room when the sun goes down. There are shutters and curtains that you can purchase that will completely block out any and all light. Making sure your room is very dark will help your mind get ready to settle down and sleep.</p>
