My 10 weeek old is giving us many sleepless nights. Just counting down the days of a good nights sleep. When did you find your baby slept the night through?

I have 2 children and they both started sleeping through the whole night at 3 months old. You have to gradually start letting them cry for a few minutes when they wake up in the middle of the night to fall back asleep on their own. If they cry for more than a few minutes, then of course check on them, but that’s how I did it. That’s how they learn to fall back asleep on their own.
It really depends on the baby. My friend’s daughter was 18 months the first time she slept through the night without waking (sorry, didn’t mean to scare you with that one!). My son slept through the night for the first time the night that he turned 12 weeks old. He’ll be a year old on Monday and now he averages 11 hours a night plus an hour nap in the morning and a 2 hour nap in the afternoon. It’ll happen, don’t worry ;o)
One thing I used to tell myself when I was at the same point that you are is that I should actually treasure these awakenings in the middle of the night. Pretty soon your baby won’t need you for that anymore which shows you exactly how fast they grow…I always tend to try and put a positive spin on things though!
my bf son slept through the night when he was 5 months but this stopped when we went away for christmas and he didn’t sleep through again until he was sleeptrained at 10 months. at 10 weeks you could think about a little sleep training. when he wakes, let him fuss for a while before you go to him. you might be surprised that he’ll settle himself. so unless he’s actually crying, leave him and see what happens. this is a lot easier if he’s got his own room. that is how i got my son to sleep through at 5 months and it wasn’t a big deal at all. there was no crying. at 10 months it was a different story…
My daughter did not sleep through the night EVER! Not without medication at the age of 8 months as I was ill and could not do 24 hour care on my own with two babies. My husband helped but he had to go away with his job then for several weeks so the doctor gave us medication.
She is 28 now AND still does not sleep all night!
Don’t be put off they do settle down eventually, try leaving baby to cry for a while and don’t go to them immediately.
Depends on when the baby is ready for it. Some babies sleep through pretty early, and others are still waking up at night even past their first birthday. My kids were total opposites – My daughter was a dream sleeper, sleeping through the night by 2 months. My son was almost 11 months before sleeping through the night, and even now at 16 months he still has an occasional night that her wakes up
All babies are different, and they STTN when they are ready. Some sleep through at 6 weeks or less. Some are still waking at night at one year. Most do it somewhere in between. (I’d guess that the middle third of the year is the most common time for babies to start sleeping 6-10 hours — somewhere between 4-8 months. So you’ve got a ways to go yet before you have to start really thinking about when it’s going to happen.)
FWIW, my daughter STTN (about 7-8 hours, from 11ish to 6ish) at 7 months.
My son is 9 months old and just started sleeping through the night a few weeks ago. But I don’t really know if I consider it sleeping through the night. He goes to bed pretty late( sometimes 11) and no matter what wakes up at 6:30. Today he woke up at 5 and I had to coax him into going back to sleep until 8.
Both my children (who are now 6yo & 34 months) were sleeping straight through the night at 3 weeks old.
My brother’s 3 month old still wakes up 3 times a night.
My sister’s 11 month old started sleeping through at 10 weeks old.
Every baby is different.
Your bub will settle down and sleep through the night when it is ready to.
A few lucky moms have a baby who sleeps through the night at one or two weeks. My baby slept through the night at 8 weeks. (yes, I know I have it good!) Other babies don’t sleep through the night until they are one or two years or even older. Sorry I can’t help! I hope your baby starts sleeping all night soon!
my son slept thru the night at 3 months old… and on a regular basis for about a month and a half… then he learned how to roll over so he wakes himself up doing that.. if i was really tired i would put him in his swing at night and he would sleep longer.
My daughter started sleeping thru the night at six weeks. But then at three months (to the day) started waking up again.. at first hourly. Nothing in her routine changed so I dont know why he sleep changed. Id love if she would start sleeping thru again soon but such is life.
My son started sleeping through the night since we started putting him on his tummy. This was at about 2 months. He is now 11 weeks and gives me and hubby a comfortable good nights sleep.
My kids were about 3 months old when they would sleep for 6 hours straight. It really depends on the kids.
13 months!
He did before then, every once in a while. I think his very first time was around 2-3 months.
My son was 2.5 years old…good luck!
My daughter is almost 2 months on the first. She used. To wake up 4 times a night now she wakes up 2 or once a night. Its a good start. But its true every baby is diffrent don’t worrie they will sleep good soon. The first weeks are tuff trust me I know. Good luck with your baby
