1. Sleep earlier.
2.Wake up earlier. U'll be up longer and u'll tire out and wanna sleep earlier.
3.Do something that tires u out b4 u sleep. (lift heavy weights, read a boring book, have sex<---jk, stand up for a long time, exercise, watch some boring TV).
4. Close ur eyes and count until u fall asleep.

Whenever I couldn't sleep, I would always get super anxious every time I looked at my clock. I would think "okay if I feel asleep now, I would get four hours of sleep. If I feel asleep now, I would get two hours of sleep." It was bad. But then one night, I turned my clock to the wall, so I wouldn't know what time it was. I would tell myself it wasn't as late as I thought it was, and it would calm me down. It has worked ever since.

I have to take script meds, but before that,
I tried Melatonin. Natural thing that used to help me. Gotta believe in it though.
Exercise vigorously, but not in the evening.
Shower, massage, relax before bed.
Don't use your bed for ANYTHING besides sexual activities and sleep.
Don't drink energy drinks/sodas/etc after 2pm
Make sure your bed is comfortable/environment ideal.
See if playing soft music, or natural sounds, helps. Some people even go to sleep listening to metal. Whatever works.
Good luck

Some things that have helped me or tips I learned in psychology class include:
-Not drinking caffeine at least 4 hours before sleep
- Not eating an hour before sleep
- Making sure all the lights from clocks, stereos, etc. in the room are covered up
- Making the area you sleep in just for sleep, so that you associate it with sleeping. That means don't text, play guitar, etc. on your bed/in your bed.
- Take some deep breaths while starting to sleep, it will help the thoughts in your head go away faster
- Take 15 minutes to relax before going to bed.
That's kinda helped my insomnia, but it does still come back sometimes. Guess not everything can find a perfect cure.
