By administrator | April 11, 2009
If you think you need pills to sleep then you need to read this. Sleeping pills may be the most abused medication in the whole world (apart from hard drugs). The tragedy is that people are forking over their hard earned cash for a drug they don’t really need.If you’re one of those who think they need pills to sleep, you might be surprised to learn that, not only can you sleep without taking these pills, but your quality of sleep will be much improved.

Most people who take sleeping drugs are mis-informed. They figure that if they keep to the minimum dose they won’t have any problems. The truth is that after 2 or 3 weeks, the minimum dose isn’t going to work any more. They are then left with 2 choices, increase the dose or give up the pills. They probably won’t give up the pills because they are already addicted. Worse still they now believe they can’t sleep at all without them.
Most people who think they need pills to sleep have just inherited a faulty belief, that they can’t sleep without their pills. A belief is just a belief, but people percieve it as the truth and that’s why they will continue to take these drugs.
If this describes you then know that there is life after sleeping pills and that you don’t need pills to sleep. Yes it will take a little while to adjust, but you’ll be rewarded with better sleep. Go and read rebound insomnia for more information

There are many alternatives to sleeping pills. Even if there is no magic bullet, almost everybody can at least improve the quality of his or her sleep. For example, you can listen to inexpensive CD’s that slow down your brainwaves and bring you closer to sleep. There are special glasses that block blue light, so your body can start producing melatonin while the lights are still on. There are even CD’s that can help you get the effect of a power nap during the day, even if you don’t fall asleep.
