Chronic Insomnia Relief – Help For Long Term Insomnia

  • Sharebar

We have some new questions on the Insomnia FAQ page this week as well as a few new articles. Yes I have been very prolific and it’s because I no longer have to spend so much time on my holistic health care diploma – Yeahhh! Unfortunately I still don’t know whether I’ve passed or not but I’m not concerned about it.

There’s an article about chronic insomnia relief. Chronic insomnia is a painful reality for some people. It’s a type of insomnia that seems permanent although it need not be so.

Now I’m aware that there are people who are genuine insomniacs, they have been their whole lives and always will be! But these are few and far between. A lot of us label ourselves as having chronic insomnia, when in fact it’s that label we place on ourselves that causes the problem.

If we label ourselves as dumb, we’re probably going to do dumb things. If we say to ourselves we have chronic insomnia, how much sleep are we going to get?

I hope you can get this. I’m not trying to make you wrong – just trying to get you into a better mindset :-) )

And after all that that, the article isn’t really about mindset at all! So check it out here

  1. As someone working on their holistic health care diploma, you’re probably already aware that there are some other great natural herbal remedies for insomnia such as: Valerian Root, Passionflower, L-Theanine, 5-HTP, and Melatonin. All have been used in clinical studies to improve the duration and quality of sleep.

Another effective strategy is to make sure you’re getting plenty of physical and mental stimulation. During sleep is when the mind and body recover from the demands placed on them during the day. If you’re not physically challenging your body and mentally challenging your mind, its inevitable that you will experience some difficulty achieving a deep, quality sleep.

Thanks for the informative comment Anthony.
Yes all those remedies can help some people sleep, needs a bit of experimentation though.
I heartly agree with your take on physical and mental stimulation during the day, so long as this is tapered off before late evening.

    I cannot sleep.
I pass out. I have tried to sleep, prepare to go to bed, relax, breath. It always turns out the same that by closing my eyes…I am giving up on life. When I close my eyes…there will be no tomorrow. I feel like a 2 yr old going through anxiety over his mother leaving him at daycare. I can’t see going to a doctor for him to tell me what I already know…there will be a tomorrow, think happy thoughts, think of a time that makes you smile and then go to bed….blah blah blah. I have a great life, wife and kids…love my job, my friends, my parents, my God….so why do I feel that the last breath I take..will be the last breath as I close my eyes to go to sleep.
    ….sigh. I don’t sleep, I pass out.

    Hi
Just know you are normal. You need to address your anxiety. Anxiety takes many forms and sometimes we don’t even know what causes it!
