Is There Any Other Way To Treat Sleep Apnea Than Using The Mask?

    By administrator | June 2, 2009

I have been diagnosed with sleep apnea recently and have started using the C-Pap machine at night, but i find that i wake up in the middle of the night and take it off because i can’t seem to use it right when i roll over . It’s frustrating. I just want to sleep thru the night. Any suggestions?

loosing weight, tonsilectomy if your tonsils are large, there are parts of the back of your throat that can be cut out if its obstructive sleep apnea…

Without trying to be deaming or funny. Try and loose weight, that is what I did and because of that have no more apnea and no longer have to use the CPAP machine

Suggestion: call your doctor and tell him/her what you’ve told us and ask for his/her suggestions. I’m not about to give advise to someone who could die as a result of it. sorry

I have never had sleep apnea but my mom has. There are SO many ways to fix it. She had a surgery on her nose because she had a deviated septum (spell) and that was supposed to work but did nothing. Just a few weeks ago she went to the doctors where they basically zapped the back of her tongue so it would shrink. This has helped her a lot.
My advise is to talk to your doctor because there are plenty of ways to fix your sleep apnea. Everyone is different and these things may not work for you
I hope you can fix it!

oral appliances like retaner looking things and stuff, surgeries and such but the cpap is most effective.
You may need a new mask. Did you get a fitted properly for the mask, there are a ton so just a pick of small medium large doesn’t cover it sometimes, as for the tubing and rolling over My respratory therapist puts a hook above her bed for the tube.
