Insomnia is not a mental or emotional disorder, it’s not a disorder in general.
I suggest you talk to a doctor, maybe he/she can prescribe medications.
You can try excersising more, it helps your body get tired easier, maybe it can help you sleep.
Insomnia is not a mental or emotional disorder. Infact you need to learn on how to relax. Relaxing is the key to put your insomnia off.
Relaxation is an important part of preparing for sleep, but there is no best way – you must choose what suits you. There are many forms of relaxation therapy and most are easy for you to do yourself. Progressive muscle relaxation is one useful technique, where you tense and then relax different muscle groups in turn. Antigenic training also decreases body arousal. This involves mental exercises that switch off stress response and help relax the body’s muscles. Some people find listening to soothing music or relaxation tapes helpful. No single relaxation technique has been shown to be more efficacious than another.
Hope I have helped.
Insomnia is nasty. A ‘disorder’ certainly, but very treatable at that. Read my blog below; I wrote a short story on my bout with insomnia and how I cured it using self-hypnosis after going through a whole series of medications. I had progress within days; completely cured in about two weeks, 9 months now and I never have and never will relapse. Your mind is that powerful.
Sleep medications do not attack the underlying issues behind insomnia, which are typically stresses and environmental issues – although environmental issues the body typically will adapt to after a period of time. I feel stress is at the root of it. As well, sleep meds are trendy and expensive, and as you’ll read from my experience can have some awful side effects.
Things like this are a cash cow for the medical and psychiatric professions. We all will experience a bout of insomnia at least once in our lifetimes. It can be caused by stress, worry, illness, death or illness of a loved one, or our internal clocks are readjusting. Sometimes doing things to calm yourself down to be able to sleep, such as a warm bath might help. Having insomnia doesn,t mean your mental or emotionally unstable either.
Insomnia is neither a mental nor emotional disorder. Insomnia is usually a symptoms of something else going on either physically or psychologically. Unfortunately many many people suffer with bouts of insomnia during their lives. Some people do things like avoiding caffeine, alcohol or spicy foods before bedtime. Another thing that people find helpful is having a set sleep schedule, meaning that you get up and go to bed at the same time everyday.
