    Tips To Help You Deal With Anxiety And Stress

    Anxiety and insomnia go hand in hand which is why it’s so very important to manage anxiety. Anxiety is sometimes hard to recognize and can be non specific, meaning you don’t have to have a reason to be anxious!     Anxiety is a spontaneous and natural reaction of the body which includes the brain (psychological) and the body (physical).

    Anxiety is a mechanism that sets the bell off like an alarm system that turns on when our bodies notice we are about to be injured. In the course of this time, we feel scared, panicky, our heart rate goes up, our respiration sequence becomes fast and difficult, our muscles become rigid and we begin trembling We may perhaps feel like throwing up and possibly covered in sweat. All of these symptoms are due to the adrenalin charge and other chemical substances (hormones) that are being unleashed by our bodies during traumatic situations. That is when we sense the desire to get ready for battle and defend ourselves or to flee the situation. This is called the fight or flight response due to an anxiety attack.

    Each and every one of us experience anxiety symptoms at one moment or another. Persons who suffer from anxiety habitually encounter all kinds of predicaments like panic attacks which is a type of extreme anxiety called panic disorder. Throughout these types of events folks feel like they are going crazy, feel helpless and have no control of the circumstances. According to Charles Goodstein, MD, a clinical professor of psychiatry at New York University Langone Medical Center, the classic panic disorder presentation is the patient arriving to the emergency room with chest pain. This is because they are experiencing symptoms of a heart attack; difficulty breathing, diaphoresis, and nausea.

    Besides panic disorders, the NIH lists other Anxiety disorders as obsessive compulsive disorders (OCD), post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), social phobia or social anxiety disorder, specific phobias, and generalized anxiety disorder(GAD).

    If you are having anxiety symptoms please seek out medical help as quickly as you can. With the appropriate anxiety management, your anxiety will be under control which means you will be able to sleep and perform better. If you experience severe anxiety, it can be treated! So, go to the Doctor and obtain anxiety treatment without delay if you are not doing something about it.

    Other ways to deal with your anxiety disorder is to learn relaxation techniques because they will help you reduce stress by slowing your heart rate, lowering your blood pressure, slowing your breathing, improving concentration, and you will experience a sense of well being.

    Exercise will also help you relax. When you start feeling apprehensive just go for a short walk and if you are capable, you can go jogging for a short distance or find another kind of activity you like.

    Keep in mind, you are not alone because millions of individuals go through these types of disorders. Besides looking for medical assistance, it is recommended you join a support group because it will help you deal with your circumstances better. Besides, those who are having the similar troubles will be able to understand you better.

      I’ve had an anxiety disorder for a while as well, and I deal with it without prescription drugs.

      Basically, to deal with my panic attacks and general anxiety I will do one of 3 things.I

      1. If possible, I will take some time to sit alone and meditate, it really helps to clear your mind. I cannot suggest this technique more – it takes a while to get to the point where you can meditate easily, but it works better than any medication I’ve ever taken.

      2. Write/Talk out my fears at that time. I will write down or say out loud what is causing my anxiety, and the more I read or say them, the stupider they seem.

      3. Talk to someone about it. In the past I used to talk to my therapist about my issues, and it did really help, but now that I don’t have health insurance, I talk to my girlfriend about it, and it really helps me out.

      I hope these techniques can help you, they really help me.

      I really dislike prescriptions and medications in general, I believe they cause more problems than they fix.
